SULLIVAN COFFEE TABLES

SULLIVAN COFFEE TABLES12.2012

A family of coffee tables whose shapes evoke the plasticity of calder’s art. The project is a play on the numerous combinations that arise through the free association of basic geometric shapes and unconventional materials.  The tables come in three shapes: a triangle with rounded points, an elongated oval, and classic round.  And three finishes: pedulo walnut, glossy white lacquer, and smoke gray glass.  In addition, only in the oval shape, silver belle stone with beveled edges, creating visual and tactile effect similar to river rock.  The underside of the table is finished in an exclusive pewter color created by minotti studio - adding a further touch of originality, as it picks up the finish color the die-cast aluminum legs.  A version on wheels, available in the triangular and round shapes, lends added functionality to the Sullivan coffee tables.  The dynamic slants of the aluminum legs shows off very well in the smoke grey glass toped version with beveled edges.  Its height makes this coffee table ideal when paired with the Davis pouf, making way for dramatic juxtaposition of shapes and materials.  Design mood, structural details, and a variety of available finishes imbue the Sullivan coffee tables with dramatic presence, making them lead players in the living room, alongside the new seating systems.
